Past Trips
Our goal is to provide quality health-related service trips for those looking to enter medical, dental, nursing, and other health-related graduate schools.

See how we've accomplished this in our trip summaries below.

Patient Care
Volunteers were able to gain hands on patient care experience by attending to patients' health concerns through service in a public health campaign providing vaccinations in coroico, taking vitals, assisting injured patients in the ER, and scrubbing in for surgeries, all under the supervision of trained medical professionals.
Skills Learned
Volunteers learned to give shots, draw blood, provide emergency airway management, take blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate, suture (on pigs feet), and how to make a cast.

March 2018

La Paz, Coroico/Huata (Lake Titicaca),  Bolivia

During Spring Break of 2018, we hosted volunteers from the Unviersity of Utah, University of Miami and Florida International.  Volunteers learned first-hand from recent medical school graduates and local doctors how to perform basic medical techniques such as taking vitals, drawing blood, administering an intramuscular injection, and rounding on patients to observe various medical maladies.  In addition to providing medical service in the rural cities of Coroico (near the Amazon jungle) and Huata (a village close to Lake Titicaca), we also served at an orphanage.

March 2014
La Paz/Coroico, Bolivia

2014 was our largest group yet!  We had a blast working together in the hospital with Dr. Cabezas and the local staff.  We also went to a large orphanage in downtown La Paz where we donated soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and other sanitary items and taught the kids how to properly use them.  In addition, we provided service at a special needs center in the outskirts of the city and were able to take a day off to visit rural Tiahuanaku.
